Acting Out

  Year 9

The students in the Acting Out classes completed their CATs this week. They have been developing their improvisation skills this term and were required to work in pairs to create a shot play in response to Edvard Munch’s painting ‘The Scream’. Various ideas were brainstormed before students agreed on a scenario then wrote a script containing the general idea of the plot, along with stage directions. The actual lines were improvised to a certain degree.

The images below portray various emotions in the actors’ faces and bodies, from fear, terror, wonder, feeling nervous, uncomfortable and argumentativeness. Hold-ups, earthquakes, murder and stalking were just some of the topics of the student plays.
