Routines are returning around the residence. New students are getting to know how we operate and are finding their feet with their peers. Returning students have settled back into the routine flow of things.

Catering staff have been very busy preparing meals and forward planning for a very busy term.

The cleaning staff have been doing an amazing job, not only keeping the residence magnificently clean, but also with the additional Covid cleaning as well.

Residential staff have been keeping everyone busy afterhours. They have also been assisting new students to understand times, procedures and how we go about things. They also do a wonderful job making the students feel at home in their new environment. It can be such a big step for some students, but “Resi” staff are very caring and compassionate and are always available for the students.

Mr Jones ran indoor hockey last night with lots of students participating in a fun environment.

Busselton Camp

Last weekend some 40 students, both day and boarders embarked on our annual camp to Busselton. This year Jodee Sayer and John White did all the planning in preparation for the weekend and it turned out to be a fantastic weekend for all. Students were kept busy with a variety of games and challenges, including swimming, kayaking, basketball, cricket, footy and a trip to Par 3 golf course.

A big thank you to all staff involved in this weekend. It takes lots of planning to make it work and the students had a great time.

Dorm Monitor and Fire Drill

This week we called for nominations from the students for dorm monitors from each dorm.  These students act as the spokesperson for their dorm and assist staff in the smooth running of the Dorm.

The Dorm Monitors are Dallas Johnson, Louis McCully, Damian Maiolo, Cooper Pearson, Jamie Woods, Evie Preston, Poppy Blohm, and Heidi Blurton. I would like to thank these students  for putting their names forward.

One of their roles is to assist in quickly accounting for their dorm by cross checking the role in the case of a fire drill, like the one that was conducted last night by residential staff.

This was supported spectacularly by students. Mr Curran reported that all staff and students had reported to our Assembly area outside the dining room in under 4 minutes. This is a brilliant effort for the first fire drill and the Dorm Monitors did a great job – well done.

Laundry

A reminder to students, parents and guardians to please make sure that your name or at least your laundry number is on all clothing that goes through the laundry.  Please be aware iron on names are falling off in the washing machines.

Closed weekend

The weekend of 26th February is a 'Closed Weekend'.  We ask that students are to be collected by 5pm on the Friday and returned no earlier than 3.30pm on Monday 1st March

There are NO residential staff available to take over Duty of Care outside of these times. Students are also reminded to submit their REACH leave in a timely manner for this Closed Weekend.
