Living Well, Learning Well

Throughout this term, as a St Joseph’s Team, we have been explicitly teaching, modelling and actively supporting our students to understand what the ‘I am Safe’ and ‘I am Valued, Respected and Cared for’ school rules for living, look, sound and feel like at St Joseph’s.

As part of our learning, students have been discussing feeling safe at school, how we are kept safe and how we can keep others safe.

Kind Regards,

Assistant Principal

Student Surveys

To support our school's focus on learning and wellbeing, this year, our students will have the opportunity, as part of their class learning to complete a variety of student surveys.

This week, our K-6 students completed their first survey, this survey allowed our students to have a voice about how they feel at school, their favourite part of the school day (key learning area) in addition to sharing any other information they would like their teachers to know about them.

Thank you, St Joseph’s students, your responses have provided your teachers with valuable feedback.

Kind Regards,

Elise Baird

Assistant Principal

Class News

Stage 2 have been very productive this term so far. We have been learning about the life cycles of animals compared to humans in Science, resilience and how to develop the skills to become a resilient person In Personal Development/Health, whole number games in Mathematics and how to plan and compose a persuasive text in English. We have enjoyed learning new skills in these areas and look forward to building on these.

One particular subject we have enjoyed is in Science. Our learners have engaged in using technology to support their learning and presentation of their knowledge using photos, google slides and google docs.

PDHPE

This week in PDHPE we have been looking at increasing our fitness, hand-eye coordination and foot-eye coordination.

We now have some new equipment too which the students have loved having available during break times.
