Creating Classroom Libraries at BPS

As we work to strengthen literacy at BPS we will be creating classroom libraries. Classroom libraries provide increased opportunities for students to become stronger readers. In addition to our school library, by having a classroom library, students have more access to books.

Students play a key role in maintaining the classroom library by helping to organise and categorise the books. To help with the creation of those libraries we will be running a Book Drive in Term 3, organised by our 'Parents and Friends Community'.

Families will have the opportunity to donate good quality second hand books. We know that many families have books in their home that may sit on shelves after they have been read or end up being donated elsewhere. We know this is a useful resource we may be able to utilise to compliment books that are purchased for classroom libraries. Please see the flyer below for more information on both classroom libraries and our upcoming book drive.
