KIOSC - Virtual Excursion

With the remote learning, we have found that KIOSC, an extension of our school campus, as part of Swinburne University has also been closed to classes and have switched to remote learning as well to allow our students to have a Virtual Excursion.

The first "excursion" was for all of our year 10 students.  KIOSC ran 2 virtual sessions on Epigenetics with 80% of our students attending live sessions introducing them to the concept of personalised medicine and laboratory results indicating what the best choice of medicine would be for a specific patient.

We have 2 more virtual excursions planned for students; one for our Science of Crime class solving a case of who stole the COVID-19 vaccine and another for our year 7 students with the focus on Mars, and how it  might become habitable.

We look forward to how these new sessions will combine the remote learning and virtual classroom with classroom teaching and when our KIOSC visits can resume.
