Mr Butts' Announcements

Principal

Thank You!

A big thank you to everyone in ensuring the return of students to school has been so smooth.  It has been great seeing the Junior students back in the classrooms and with their friends.

Just a reminder that Gr 3-6 students return to school on Tuesday 9 June.

Could all parents and carers please ensure they have read the letter below regarding the procedures we have put in place to adhere to the regulations the Government has put in place.  Please pay particular attention to drop off and pick up rules, which require Gr 2-6 parents and carers to remain in cars when dropping off students.

Weekly Mass Online

Each Saturday, a video of of Mons Peter celebrating the Sunday mass is emailed out to families and parishioners. Tom Diamond is doing a brilliant job producing the video each week - thank you Tom! Please let me know if you know anyone who like to be added to the email list.

St Vinnies Winter Appeal

We are once again asking families to have a look through pantries and wardrobes for food items and good quality second hand clothes for this year's St Vinnies Winter Appeal.  Vinnies have been extremely grateful of the generosity of St Mary's families for what is an essential community service.

Supporting Anxious Children

The Positive Partnerships website has many strategies to support children with Autism.  However, these strategies are also very effective for all children who are showing signs of anxiety.

School Fees

With the likelihood that all school camps and major excursions will be cancelled for the rest of the year, school fees will be recalculated at some stage soon.  I will inform parents of this when we have made a final decision.

Reading Tips for Parents

Parents are doing a wonderful job listening to their children read.  Click here for some reading prompts that will help with your child's reading sessions.

New School App

Please note that our old school App is no longer functional, Simon Everywhere is our new communication centre and offers the same features as the old App. We ask families to discontinue using the old App, in particular for student absences, and ensure you have access to Simon Everywhere.

For those of you needing to download the new St Mary's App please go to the Simon Everywhere page of this newsletter for details.
