News the Art Room!
As I write this, our Foundation to Year 2 students are sitting in their classrooms for the first time this term - YAY! The shift to remote learning was challenging for many, although it was clear to me that as a whole, the Great Ryrie community embraced the opportunities that it provided to the best of our abilities.
What I noticed during this time was how staff, students and families at home (and the community at large) were continually being called on to use our CREATIVITY to help us through. It might be that we had to rearrange our homes to accommodate learning spaces, or we had to find a way to navigate I.T. so that work was being created and shared and we could keep in touch with one another, or maybe we were being asked to use coffee to paint with and laundry items to make artworks! Whatever it was, there was a lot of problem-solving going on that got us thinking outside the square.
I've really enjoyed seeing the work that students have sent to me and have been proud of their efforts and now I'm looking forward to inviting students back into the art room to continue their creative journey!
