From the Deputy Principal/Head of Senior School

COVID-19 Drill

On Thursday 18 June we completed a drill to prepare for the possibility of a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the College community. As part of that drill, students gathered in designated locations and were provided with information about what would occur if the College was notified during the day that we need to enact a cease of operations immediately.

A summary of the Cease of Operations Protocols will be distributed to families next week so that parents and carers can plan for the arrangements that would need to occur should you be required to collect your sons and/or daughters from the College during the school day with limited notice.

Drop-off and pick-up arrangements

It is unfortunate to have to report that there has been an increase in the number of cars using the Badgally Road entrance to the Senior School during the restricted times. Prior to the end of first term, information was provided in the Newsletter to remind all families about the arrangements. We have reached the point where disregard for these arrangements is leading to both congestion and a potential risk to the safety and wellbeing of students and staff.

Senior School parents and carers should be aware of the expectation that students are dropped off and picked up at the Western Gate entrance to the College. The Badgally Road entrance off Gregory Hills Drive is only accessible prior to 7.45am and after 3.45pm unless special permission has been given and the relevant card is displayed on the car dashboard.

From now until the end of this term, any parents and carers using the Badgally Road entrance in the restricted hours will be provided with a letter setting out the reasons for these arrangements and also indicating that from Monday 20 July, it will be an automatic Monday afternoon detention for any student who alights from and gets into a car without having special permission.

Communication with staff

Earlier in the year, the College provided families with a document that was designed to assist by providing parents and carers with points of contact for academic, pastoral and sporting matters. A copy of this document is still available on the College website under Resources for Parents to assist with the communication with staff.

A link to the website location is provided below.

End of term

With just one week of the term remaining, I take this opportunity to wish all students and their families the best for the upcoming break.
