Fruit kebabs in the Green Team

The Green Team has been learning about how our food choices impact the environment and how food waste is one of the biggest forms of waste from households. We collected all of the left over fruit from the free fruit program from around the school which would have been thrown away. We used this left over fruit to make delicious fruit kebabs. The students enjoyed making and eating the fruit kebabs in the kitchen and we felt great for having saved this fruit from being wasted. Vertical Gardens Update 

Last year, the sustainability team won a grant of $1,000 to build vertical gardens at Kingswood. We have now made the plans for these gardens which we be installed on the wall next to the kitchen, near the handball courts. Sonia is very excited to plant some herbs and edible flowers in the vertical garden which the students can use for their cooking in the kitchen. The materials have been bought and the next step is to build the gardens. You will see some progress happening soon!
