Leadership @ Monty

Welcome to Term 4!

We know that Term 4 is probably the busiest term for our teachers and students as they endeavour to complete everything they set out to at the beginning of the year! As I mentioned in assembly this week, please ensure that you keep up to date with the reading of all communication sent by the school so that you stay informed as to what is happening from week to week.

Survey Data Results

We are extremely proud to share some of the latest data that has come from a multitude of surveys and assessments recently. This data is used to inform our practice and future planning at MPS.

Attitudes to School Survey Data: In May, our Grades 4,5 & 6 children participated in the annual "Attitudes to School Survey."  We are thrilled to see some of these results and how they have improved this year!

Staff Opinion Survey Data: We are extremely proud of the dedication, sense of rigour and professionalism of our staff at Monty.

Parent Opinion Survey Data: Thank you to those families that participated and gave their feedback. These results are outstanding and are a great affirmation of  the teaching and learning that takes place every day at Monty.

NAPLAN Data: Well done to our Year 3 and Year 5 students!

Moving House?

If you are moving house and/or changing school, please contact the office as we are finalising student enrolment numbers for 2020. In the next edition of the newsletter we will be outlining some of our structures and planning for 2020.  Stay tuned!

Volunteers

Even though we are already in Term 4, there are still many opportunities to be involved in our school programs. We are always asking for assistance with our wonderful SAKG program - either in the kitchen or the garden. Please scroll down further to read the SAKG article and request for volunteers.  We are also looking for volunteers to assist at our Bunnings BBQ over the November Melbourne Cup weekend. This is a great opportunity to raise funds for our school so that we can continue to assist with resourcing and maintaining our wonderful, existing programs.

Hats

A reminder that children must be wearing hats during play times. Please ensure that your child applies sunscreen before they arrive at school. Children are encouraged to reapply using their own sunscreen at break times.  Remember: No Hat, No Play.

Payments

Term 4 planners have now been sent to families. Please finalise payments at the Office to ensure your child is able to participate in the programs on offer.

Walk to School Month

The month of October is "Walk to School" month.  It has been great to see many families enjoy a walk to school! It is a great opportunity for not only our children to be active at the start of the day, but to enjoy the company of others! Well done and keep it going!

Ask Gran Not Google

Ask Gran Not Google is an inter-generational project that encourages children to seek the wisdom and life experience of a senior before searching the internet for answers. By doing so, children gain insight into the valuable role seniors can play in their lives and society.

We invite our Monty Grandparents and seniors to come along to our "Grandparent's Day - Ask Gran not Google" next Friday 25th October from 9:00-10:00am. Our students will be  eager to ask questions and participate in special activities. We will also be offering a 'cuppa' and a chat from 10:15am in the hall.
