Maths Alive!

This term in Year 8 Mathematics, students have been undertaking studies in Measurement using hands-on, practical methods. They have measured and calculated perimeters and areas of shapes, and volumes of solids. They have also investigated the relationship between the radius, diameter, circumference and area of a circle. Their most recent assessment task involved finding and measuring shapes and objects around the College in order to calculate perimeter, area and volume. Many enjoyed the Mathematics learning opportunities afforded them outside the traditional classroom setting.
