Curriculum Update

Reports

Semester 1 Reports are now available via the Parent Portal,  I encourage families to take time over the holidays to sit with their students and reflect on their progress for 2023.  Celebrate the successes and reflect on the challenges.

Term 3 sees our Junior students focus on subject selection for the 2024 school year.  The subject handbooks for both Junior (Year 9 & 10 2024) and Senior (Year 1 2024) are now published on the College Website under Learning Enrichment.

Senior (Year 11 2024) Subject Selection

There are several major events that will take place in early Term 3 to assist in this important process:

Subject Expo

Tuesday 11 July from 3.30pm – 5.30pm – Hugh O’Brien Centre

The expo is a chance for students and their parents to see the various subjects offered across our many departments and we engage discussions with teachers and Heads of Departments.

Session 1 (3.30pm – 4.30pm) is aimed at Year 9 and Year 10 2024 and Session 2 (4.30pm – 5.30pm) is aimed at Year 11 2024.  In addition to our departmental displays, external providers and universities will also be in attendance for students to discuss senior pathways.

2024 Year 11 Information Session

Tuesday 11 July 5.30pm – 6.30pm – Hugh O’Brien Centre.

An overview of senior schooling, including: pathways, familiarisation with QCE, ATAR, VET requirements and avenues of support available to our students.

There will be a follow-up Zoom Q&A session

Thursday 20th July from 6.30pm – 7.30pm

A link will be sent via email to Year 10 families.

SETPlan Conversations

Tuesday 25 July 1.30pm – 4.00pm and Thursday 27 July  2.30pm – 6.30pm

Senior Education and Training Plan conversations between Year 10 students, parents and our SETPlan team to discuss and plan pathway and subject selection for Year 11 2024.  Bookings will be made through PTO with a link sent to parents in early Term 3.

Junior (Year 9 2024 & Year 10 2024) Subject Selection

Year 8 and 9 students will be selecting their subjects later in Term 3.  Information will be shared via the Pastoral Bulletin and via email.

It is an exciting time of the year when students start to look towards their future and plan the pathway that will best see them achieve their goals and make a difference in our world.

Wishing all our families a happy and restful holiday.

Kind regards
