Community Conversation Circle
Thank you to the parents who either joined us or emailed suggestions for our first Community Conversation Circle. Some of the ideas raised included:
- Multicultural/Cultural Diversity Day where parents are involved in the planning & running some workshops for students
- Family sports day
- Coffee Kiosk - once a month parents gather to have a coffee and chat. Parents could come and see the students in the centres
- Wine and Cheese night
- Information Night with a focus on families meeting one another as well as the teacher
- Family lunch day where families can come in and eat lunch with their children
- Trivia or movie night
- Community masses at OLSC
- Fun Fact Friday (about cultures). Could this be outsourced to families?
- Celebration of other cultural days
- Playgroup
- School vacation care
- Better communication about when there are opportunities for parents to help out
At our next Community Conversation Circle we will prioritise and timeline the ideas.
Due to unforeseen circumstances our second Community Conversation Circle scheduled for June 16th has had to be postponed. We will reschedule this for early Term 3.
Student Leaders News
Thankyou to all students who supported our last Casual Clothes day. We raised $461 which will go towards improvements to our outside areas. Well done one & all.
Winter Drive
The SRC & Social Justice Team are once again working together on the OLSC Winter Drive. Many people in our community are doing it tough. Our student leaders have organised a Winter Drive to help those in need. It will be run during Weeks 7-9: Students can start bringing items in from Monday June 5.
