Performing Arts
Dear families,
This term the Prep, Grade One and Grade Two students have been learning Aussie barn dances in Performing Arts. We are so excited about our upcoming Junior School Barn Dances which will be held next week! Students have been following the ‘farm’ theme in Visual Art this term too and lots of fabulous artwork will be on display in the gym.
Information about this event has been published in the past two newsletters.
Please read this article carefully as it contains important information.
What are the important details?
Where: Rolling Hills Primary School – Gym
When: Grade 1 and 2 – Tuesday 20th June
Prep – Wednesday 21st June
Time: 3.40pm – 4.30pm
How will my child get to the presentation?
Students will stay with their teacher afterschool, where they will have a little snack and get organised.
PLEASE SEND YOUR CHILD WITH AN ADDITIONAL SNACK AND DRINK TO HAVE AFTER SCHOOL.
Teachers will bring students down to the gym for the performance.
What if my child can not attend?
All students will perform in their respective concert. If your child is unable to attend, please let their classroom teacher know in writing as soon as possible.
Costumes:
Please provide your child with a ‘farmer’ costume. Think jeans or similar, boots/runners, checked shirt/ t-shirt etc. No hats please. Students need to be able to move easily in their costume.
Please send students to school in full school uniform and have them bring their costume in a named bag. Teachers will organise time for students to get changed before the presentation.
Please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly named
The costume pieces are simple in the hope that many families will already have these things at home or they are things that could be borrowed from others. Alternatively, Kmart, Big W, Best and Less and Target often have reasonably priced options.
Can I bring a chair?
We have limited space so the audience is encouraged to stand where possible. We will have some seating available too.
How do I collect my child at the end of the performance?
At the conclusion of the presentation, students can be collected from their class area and must be signed out. We will announce the class collection areas at the end of the performance.
OSHCare
If your child goes to OSHCare on the evening of their performance, you will need to contact Nicole or Debbie and fill out a permission slip for your child to be able to attend the performance and be collected by the OSHCare educators.
We look forward to seeing you at the performances!
Kind regards,
Kate Warner
