whoever eats this bread will live forever.'

Corpus Christi Sunday

Last weekend, we celebrated as we know in Latin, the Feast of Corpus Christi, also known as The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. The above verse highlights that Jesus' presence in the Eucharist is for life. The Corpus Christi readings remind us of Jesus' offering of his Body and Blood which serves in the Church as a lasting memorial of His saving death for us. We renew Jesus' Covenant by participating in the banquet of his Body and Blood, a banquet that, through his death, gives us life.

When a priest proclaims the words, “This is My body and this is My blood” during Mass, it is referred to as the act of transubstantiation”.  Transubstantiation occurs when the substance of bread (wafer) and wine become (are transformed into) the actual body and blood of Christ.  Not only is this act one of the greatest mysteries of faith, it is also the most important moment of the entire celebration of Corpus Christi.

The One Whom we adore is not some distant power. Rather, our Lord is right here with us. This should give us believers tremendous relief, hope for the future, and joy as we press forward into the unknown. Let’s join together in asking our Lord to grant us deeper understanding of His infinite Wisdom and mysteries of our faith. And may His Holy presence forever join us together as One Body at all times.

Whole School Mass

On Friday 16th June, we will come together as a whole school to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  In preparation for this Mass, we invite the school community to donate food as well as winter items such as blankets and winter clothing, that will be collected for our partner organisation, St Vincent de Paul Society. Food and winter items can be sent to your child's classroom to be collected by our Mini Vinnies Leadership Team.

It is an opportunity to help those less fortunate than ourselves at this very challenging and harsh time of year. Historically, this Mass was once known as the 'Poor Man's Mass' however, we go beyond helping the poor through our actions to consider others. As the motto of the St Vincent de Paul Society suggests; 'It is a hand up not a hand out' when we demonstrate action to assist others.

An invitation is extended to the whole school community to join us for this Mass celebration. Mass will be in the school hall at 12:30p.m. We hope to see you there.

Confirmation Ceremony

The Confirmation Ceremony for our candidates is this Sunday 18th June at 2p.m at the St Peter's Hall West Campus. Please keep these students in your prayers as they journey closer to this important spiritual event in their lives. May they be filled with the Holy Spirit and continue the work of Jesus as they continue to grow in the faith.
