From the Dean of Curriculum

Dear BMGS Community,

As we reach the conclusion of an eventful and enriching second term at Blue Mountains Grammar School, I am pleased to reflect on the multitude of opportunities and events that have shaped our students' educational journeys. It has been a busy term filled with valuable experiences and important milestones that have helped our students shape their future paths. In this newsletter, I would like to highlight some of the key events and initiatives that have taken place.

Careers School Expo: Our annual Careers School Expo was a resounding success, bringing together students, parents, and representatives from various industries to provide valuable insights into career pathways. The expo showcased a wide range of career options, allowing students to engage directly with professionals, gain industry knowledge, and make informed decisions about their future pursuits. We are grateful to all the exhibitors and volunteers who contributed to making this event a memorable one.

Subject Selection Nights: Subject selection is a crucial step in every student's academic journey, and this term we organized informative Subject Selection Nights to guide students and their parents through this process. These evenings provided an opportunity for our dedicated teaching staff to explain the various subjects on offer, discuss prerequisites, and offer personalized advice to students based on their interests and aspirations. We believe that well-informed subject choices lay the foundation for success, and we are pleased with the engagement and enthusiasm displayed by our students and parents during these events.

Careers Workshops: To further support our students' career exploration and development, we organized a series of Careers Workshops throughout the term. These workshops focused on essential skills such as resume writing, interview techniques, networking, and personal branding. We invited industry professionals and alumni to share their expertise and provide valuable guidance to our students. These workshops equipped our students with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the competitive world of work and make informed decisions about their future career pathways.

Assessment Blocks: This term, our students faced assessment blocks that challenged their knowledge, critical thinking, and time management skills. These assessment periods provide important opportunities for students to showcase their understanding of the curriculum and consolidate their learning. Our teachers have provided guidance and support to help students prepare and excel in their assessments. We commend our students for their dedication and commitment to their studies during these busy periods.

Looking Ahead: As we enter the next term, we are excited about the upcoming opportunities and events that will further enrich our students' educational experiences. We will continue to provide guidance and support as students make subject selections for the following year, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary information to make informed decisions about their academic pathways.

In conclusion, I would like to extend my gratitude to our students for their hard work and enthusiasm throughout this busy term. I also want to thank our dedicated staff, parents, and volunteers for their ongoing support and commitment to providing our students with a well-rounded education. Together, we can help our students achieve their goals and aspirations.

As we head into the term break, I encourage everyone to take some time to relax, recharge, and reflect on the achievements of this term. Enjoy the well-deserved break, spend quality time with loved ones, and return rejuvenated for another exciting term ahead.
