Term 2, Week 8

Respectful Relationships

During Respectful Relationships, Prep Mortlock have been investigating ‘can everyone play?' and 'friendly or unfriendly decisions'. This week we discussed the importance of including our peers in games that we play. We read the story 'This is Our House' by Michael Rosen. In the photos below, Prep students are talking to a partner about ways we can make other students feel included. We had great conversations about what makes a good friend and what friendly vs unfriendly decisions look like. We also discussed how someone could ask for help if they aren't feeling included.

SWPBS - Whole School Reward Day - 20th/21st June

Students have been working hard to earn as many stickers as they could to work towards their Whole School Reward for Term 2. The Whole School Reward day will be held on Tuesday 20th June for Grades 1/2 & 3/4, and Wednesday 21st June for Prep & 5/6.

During Term 2, students have worked extremely hard and have earned the reward of:

LEVEL 3- MOVIE AND POPCORN

All students should be extremely proud of their efforts, they have shown great Resilience, Responsibility and Respect this term.

This week, students were able to vote for the movie they would like to watch. The movies are as follows:

Prep = Minions: The Rise of Grew

1/2 = Minions: The Rise of Grew

3/4 = Super Mario Brothers

5/6 = Despicable Me 3

This week, an event will be put on Compass for parents to give consent and provide payment. Please do this as soon as possible so your child is able to attend the Whole School Reward in week 9.

In Prep Mortlock this week (see photos above), students got to participate in 'Pass the Parcel' as a reward for completing their Whole Class Puzzle (80 stickers). Our students have worked hard and were so excited to have their class reward.

Just a quick update this week from the SRC. We have recently met with Architect and former SGPS parent, Lucas Hodgens, of ‘e+ Architecture’, to help design our Student Relax Zone. We shared the kids ideas and got some great ideas from Lucas and are now putting together a final plan for the space. Watch this space!
