Principal News

Dear Sacred Heart School Community

As you will be aware, our Premier announced on Sunday that all primary school students will resume onsite learning as of Monday 12th October

Our Premier has given school principals the flexibility to implement a transition back to school procedure, that meets the demands each school faces due to its individual characteristics. Being a smaller school, we have decided that all our students from Year Prep to Year Six will commence school on Monday 12th October, and be at school for the five full days.

So to confirm the great news for all our families, all our students can return to school at the beginning of Week Two in this upcoming term.

Upon hearing the news and informing the staff of our Premier’s intentions to resume schooling for all our students, I was swamped with joyous responses from the staff. We are so happy to have all our magnificent students and their wonderful families back where you belong for what is almost the whole final term of the school year.

As was the case back in second term when our students resumed onsite learning, there will be certain protocols and procedures in place to ensure the continued safety of our school community. These will be detailed in next week’s school letter. I ask once again that you adhere to these protocols as you did so cooperatively back in term two.

In Week One, our school is still required to offer onsite learning for students whose parents are permitted workers and cannot organise appropriate supervision. If you are moving into this category next week because you are resuming work, can you please contact me by email before Sunday evening so we can organise appropriate staffing at school. Parents and guardians of students who were at school last term do not need to contact me.

Again let me reiterate how excited we are to have our students back, and how appreciative we have been of our student’s parents and guardian’s efforts during these challenging times.

Yours Sincerely

Mark Tierney
