Deputy Principal
It is with great pleasure that we can announce that the new Deputy Principal for the remainder of Term 2 will be Mirjana Grubor. Mirjana is currently Assistant Principal - Teaching and Learning at Brompton Primary School. Mirjana has a strong understanding of student learning and high achievement. We welcome her to LNPS and look forward to working with her at this exceptional school.
School Vision
As you would be aware staff and Governing Council have been working on reimaging the school vision this year. Feedback was sought from the community during the last part of term 1. At Monday night’s Governing Council Meeting the reimaged school vision was ratified by Governing Council. Our new school vision is:
‘Lockleys North Primary School, a community of empowered learners who strive for success’
Transition to the new vision will begin immediately, however it will take some time for it to be implemented across classrooms and the school community. We appreciate your support during this transition process.
Site Improvement Plan
Over the past 3 terms staff and Governing Council have been working on the new Site Improvement Plan for 2015-2018. This will outline the schools priorities and explicit strategies for each over the next 3 years. Staff and Governing Council have worked to align our future priorities with the DECD Strategic Plan and West Torrens Partnership Plan. The three priorities that have been identified are:
· Quality Pedagogy
· Community Engagement
· Wellbeing for Learning
Staff and Governing Council are now seeking feedback from the school community in regards to their thoughts about the identified priorities and explicit strategies that support improvement in these areas. Successful Sports Day
After all the worry about the weather, Sports Day turned out to be a huge success. After a cold, wet start, we ended up basking in glorious sunshine.
Congratulations to our winning Yellow Team and all of our teams! Thank you to all our families - it was great to see so many people out to support our children.
