Year One/Two News

Where did the term go?

What a wonderful time students had last Tuesday, celebrating with parents their learning achievements and future goals at out Student-Led Conferences. Thank you to all parents who were able to attend.

The term seems to have gone by in a flash and, despite illnesses, children have shown resilience and adaptability throughout. The Year 1/2 teachers are continually amazed at the fact that even though none of our students have completed a full year of onsite learning they are doing a great job both within the classroom and out in the yard.

As we come to the end of this term, we would like to thank all students and their parents for the commitment to their own or their child's learning. We wish you all a very restful and well-earned break. Hopefully we will have some beautiful weather to enjoy the holiday.

As we look ahead to Term 4, a few reminders about what is coming up:

 - This Friday is special for two reasons:

Walk to School Day - information about meeting points at various locations in Miners Rest will be sent home with the eldest child before Friday

Footy Day Parade - Students are able to dress in their favourite footy colours or another sporting team they support. We are asking for a gold coin donation if they do (the Junior School Council will determine what school project the funds raised will go towards). Parents are invited to the Footy Day Parade commencing in Kim Barne Nitje gym at 9.15am.

 - Our swimming program commences the first Thursday of term and continues each week for 10 weeks. If you are still to return the pink permission slip and pay for the lessons, this will need to happen before the program commences.

Wishing you all a very happy holiday.

Pat, Rebecca, Amelia, Eliza and Holly
