2022 Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey
WE WANT OUR PARENTS/CAREGIVERS/GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!
Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents/caregivers/guardians think of our school. The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior and student engagement. We encourage all families to participate in this survey. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.
While previously a random sample of approximately 30 per cent of parents/caregivers/guardians have been selected to participate, this year, all families are invited to participate in the survey.
The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will be conducted from Wednesday 24th August to Friday 16th September.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, Chin (Hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek.
Survey results will be communicated to our school community via the newsletter later in the year and also through our 2022 Annual report to be published in April 2023.If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate in contacting our office on 9401 2599 or via XUNO.
3 Way Conferences – Students/Parents/Teachers (Year 7-10)
Earlier this term we held 3 way conferences for our senior students in Year 11 and 12 and these were successfully conducted online. In the coming weeks, on Thursday, 8th September, we will be holding online, 3 way conferences for our students in Year 7-10. This is an invaluable opportunity for parents, students and teachers to discuss the academic progress of each student and as such, we encourage all parents to take up this opportunity.
Term 3 Conferences will commence at 10:00am and run through until 7:00pm on Thursday, 8th September.
Please note that no classes will run on this day and that students are not required at school.
All teachers who are available on the day will shortly have bookings open via our XUNO portal. Detailed information will be provided to all parents/carers on how to book an interview. In the event that you do get stuck with this process, please contact the front office who can book interviews for you, if you are having difficulties.
Planning for 2023
Term 3 is always a busy time of the year, as we work through being prepared for the everyday events that July, August and September bring and we also start gearing up for the year ahead. A significant part of this work has been supporting students with their subject selections and pathways for 2023 and beyond. Shortly, we will start allocating our teachers to subjects for next year and also recruiting to support the needs of students for 2023. If your son or daughter is not returning in 2023, it would be greatly appreciated if you could please let us know ASAP, so that this can be factored into our planning.
Wear It Purple Day!
At Epping Secondary College we are extremely proud of the inclusive, respectful and multicultural school community that we have developed. As part of our regular celebrations, many students took the opportunity to come dressed for Wear It Purple Day, an international day to raise awareness of the experiences of LGBTIQA+ young people and to show them that there is hope, support, and acceptance for those with diverse sexuality, sex and/or gender and that they have the right to be proud of who they are.
Thank you to our students and staff for supporting the theme of "Still Me, Still Human."
