1/2T & 1/2K

What a wonderful fortnight the 1/2 classes have had!

There have been loads of exciting learning opportunities for all.

Maths

During Maths we have been working on building our multiplicative thinking.

We can represent multiplication in lots of different ways.

For example 3 groups of 4 can be shown;

-in a drawing,

-by making groups using counters,

-writing an equation using the multiplication sign (3 x 4),

-thinking about rows and columns to form an array,

-and even as repeated addition (4 + 4 + 4).

English / Inquiry

We have continued to find out all about different cultures.

Last week we investigated Indian dance and art, while this week we have been looking at some of the food, games and animals from Nigeria,

and writing our very own information reports.

Next week we will be working on a mini project all about our own cultural background, using the information we have collected over the past few weeks, talking with our families as part of our home learning.  If any of the investigation sheets (food, games, celebrations or entertainment) haven't been filled in yet, it would be greatly appreciated if you could please complete them and make sure they are at school by Monday.

Education in Faith

This week, during our Education in Faith lessons, we have been finding out about some important principles that help us to know how we should treat each other and how to interact with others.  After learning about what each one means, we thought about times when we have demonstrated them in our own lives.
