Building works
Building works update.
New Year 7 hub - The outside is bricked and roof is on. Plaster has started inside and is taking shape. Looks amazing!
Science Centre redevelopment - Frame is done and roof is on. Having some delays with joining the old building with the new, need it to stop raining for a couple of days.
Both projects still on track to finish at the end of the year and move in 2023!
Energy Breakthrough 2022
We are excited to announce Energy breakthrough is up and running, although on a skeleton crew.
We are in need of riders for this awesome event. Everything is paid from our sponsors and our budget, so there should only be your pocket money to take to the event in Maryborough, not far from Bendigo Victoria. All we need from you is your dedication to the teams. We have 2 teams entered in this fun and life changing event.
Some of our sponsors have donated uniforms and drink bottles, thank you East Gippsland Water. Rotary have also donated a mobile kitchen for us to use . One of our proud sponsors even donated enough so that we could book a coach to take us to and from the Energy Breakthrough event in Maryborough. Thank you to Forest, Fire and Regions Group, Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning.
In Energy Breakthrough we look into environmental issues effecting the world today and investigate possible solutions for real world problems. Our students will be putting together a video presentation for the judges to look at and grade.
Following this part of the event students will be presenting our HPV’s for scrutineering and safety checks ready for the big event. A 24 hour cycling event from 1.00 pm Saturday the 19th of November to Sunday 1.00 pm the 20th of November. Students will be taking turns riding our HPV’s in 2 teams, riding in shifts of no longer than 30 minutes each if the weather is nice or less in hot weather.
This is an awesome team event for students. We need a total of 24 students to make this event happen. At the moment we are struggling for numbers and it would be tragic for the dedicated students who have been to every session on Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes and after school in the automotive department of our wonderful College.
Times for training are Tuesday and Thursday lunchtime, and after 4.00 pm when all the busses have left the bus loop till 5.00 pm. We are having a lot of fun and laughs along the way making new friends and building school and team spirit.
