Wellbeing referral process

Macleod College Wellbeing Referral Process
If a staff member has concerns about a student’s mental or physical wellbeing, the referral process should be initiated to ensure that the appropriate support is provided to the student in a timely manner. At Macleod College, we use the SafeMinds model to best support students with their wellbeing needs.
If a staff member has safety concerns related to a student this must be communicated as a priority via email and phone or face to face conversation with admin/leadership team member or wellbeing team member at the time the concern is received. Please request support if you are teaching.
The classroom teacher, the Student Manager (SM), Sub-school Leader (SSL), Student Wellbeing Coordinator (SWC), Mental Health Practitioner (MHP) and Wellbeing & Inclusion Leader (W&IL) all have roles to play in supporting the mental and physical wellbeing of students and may all be involved in the wellbeing referral process at some stage.
