Uniform Expectations

Uniform Expectations:

All Macleod College students are expected to wear correct school uniform from when they leave home in the morning until they return home at the end of the day. Where there is a genuine reason for a student not wearing correct school uniform the parent/carer should provide an explanatory note with contact details included.

 

Teachers, parents and carers are responsible for helping students wear the correct school uniform.

 

Procedures and Consequences:

  1. Students who are not wearing the correct uniform need to report to their Student Manager between 8.30am and 8.55am to obtain a uniform pass. This should be recorded and students will be informed of consequences if being out of uniform is repeated.
  2. All teachers are responsible for helping students wear correct school uniform. 
  3. All teachers should request uniform passes from students in incorrect uniform. If no uniform pass is produced the student will be asked to remove the non-uniform item (where appropriate). A note will be made on COMPASS.  It is the Student Manager’s responsibility to take appropriate action.
  • SPRAY JACKETS are now part of the PE uniform and must not be worn during classes
  • HOODIES are not part of Macleod College uniform and students are NOT permitted to wear them at school. A uniform pass must NOT be given to a student to allow them to wear a hoodie. 
  • Student Managers can let students borrow the correct uniform if items are available.

Non-compliance or refusal to take off a uniform item:

  • Teachers should not escalate the situation, but they should let the Student Manager know the day of the incident and write the incident on COMPASS as a minor behaviour.

Student Managers are responsible for keeping track and monitoring students out of uniform.

If students are repeatedly going to their Sub School for a uniform pass the following process occurs:

  • Ongoing issues of uniform will be discussed with family/carer. 
  • PE Uniform Expectations – Students are allowed to wear PE uniform all day if they have a timetabled PE lesson on the day.
