From the Principal's Desk...

Dear Parents and Carers

We are very close to the end of Term One! Our students are getting tired, as are our staff. But in true St Helena's Spirit, our students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6 have continued to work hard, and have lots of fun along the way. I would like to congratulate all our students on their efforts and achievements this term. Schools are a busy place. All our staff at St Helena's Catholic Primary School work very hard to ensure that the best interests of our students is at the forefront of all that we do. I wish to acknowledge and thank them all for their commitment and efforts. We have all loved the last couple of weeks, celebrating Harmony Day and the many cultures that come together at St Helena's. We have loved the Bread and Butter Day and raising funds for Project Compassion. We are also looking forward to Rainbow Day on Friday where we celebrate the learning diversity of all our students at St Helena's too!

Recently, we welcomed a number of new staff to St Helena's Catholic Primary School. We welcome to St Helena's the following Education Assistants - Miss Tahlia Chomiak, Mrs Sia Dhiman and Mrs Pushpinder Kaur. We will also be welcoming Mr Jonathan Watt next week to St Helena's as our new Groundsperson. We wish Mrs Jess Parker all the very best as she embarks on a new exciting journey at the end of the term - motherhood! Wishing Jess and her husband all the best on the arrival of their first child. Exciting times ahead!

Thank you to all our parents and carers for your support in ensuring that you have kept up with communications, supporting your child/ren and the SHCPS staff as we work together to support your child/ren's learning journey. I hope all parents/carers have now either had, or organised a Teacher/Parent Interview with your child's teacher in Pre-Primary to Year 6. These interviews are really important and give teachers the opportunity to let you know how your child/ren are going, as well as giving you the opportunity to share your observations that you have made in your child/ren's learning.

It was great to come together as a community at the Welcome Sundowner on Friday 17 March. A huge thank you to the P&F Committee and all the helpers leading up to the Sundowner. It was a great evening and we look forward to coming together and celebrating our St Helena's community more often going forward!

Take the time to check out some of the community events/sessions coming up in Ellenbrook, which may be of interest to you over the next few weeks/months. Check out the Community Updates section of our eNewsletter to see what is happening and when.

Enrolment Interviews for Kindergarten in 2024 are continuing to take place. Families with siblings seeking a place in our Kindergarten next year at St Helena's are asked to ensure that you have sent in your enrolment applications to Administration.

We are looking forward to the Holy Week Prayer Services next week, throughout the week, commencing at 8:30am each morning. All welcome!

Next Thursday is the last day of Term 1. On behalf of the staff, we wish all our community a Holy Easter and safe and happy holidays! We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Wednesday 26 April.
