What's Happening

New Fuso Rosa Coach

We are so incredibly grateful to Variety, the children's charity who have donated a Sunshine Coach to our school. Variety Sunshine Coaches provide transport to organisations like ours, who cater to kids with a physical disability, regional or social disadvantage, to enable them to access the community and to experience a range of special programs and activities.

Our Variety Sunshine Coaches is fitted with 2 wheelchair modifications, ensuring that all children can attend excursions and extra-curricular activities together.

Assisted School Travel Program (ASTP)

Many of our students travel to and from school using ASTP buses and taxis. For this service to run smoothly and effectively parents, school staff and contractors all have responsibilities they must meet.

Parent responsibilities include:

  • Being ready 15 minutes before the pick up and drop off time
  • Waiting at the agreed safe pick-up and drop-off location outside the home to meet the vehicle
  • Helping their child to get into the vehicle, ensuring their child is safely seated with their seat belt buckled according to the road rules
  • Assisting travel staff in loading and securing their child and the child’s mobility equipment such as wheelchairs and walkers.

If there is no responsible adult home at drop off, the student will be returned to school and the family will be required to arrange transport home. If a student becomes unsettled and unsafe during travel they will be returned home or returned to school to ensure the safety and wellbeing of others in the vehicle.

More information about responsibilities can be found on the ASTP website
