VET Certificate II in Hospitality (1st year)

VET Hospitality module,  Prepare and Present Sandwiches,  gives our students the skills and knowledge required to  prepare and present a variety of sandwiches in a hospitality or catering organisation, such as cafés, kiosks, canteens and cafeterias.

The unit applies to operational personnel who pre-prepare sandwiches or make them 'on demand' according to customer requests.

Sandwiches may be classic or modern, hot or cold, of varying cultural and ethnic origins and use a variety of fillings and types of bread.

The character of a sandwich depends as much on the bread you choose as on the way it is sliced, topped, filled and garnished.

The sandwich was actually developed by accident by the Earl of Sandwich during a late night gambling session, when two slabs of bread were put together with some roast beef and thus the legend was born!
