Sport

There has been a lot happening in the Kilbreda sporting world with Triathlon, Tennis and Cricket trials all taking place at various times. Well done to all girls who have tried out for all of these teams and good luck to the girls who will represent the College over the next two weeks.

SCSA Sports Leaders Breakfast

This morning, four of our House Leaders ventured into MSAC, Albert Park for the SCSA Sports Leaders Breakfast. The guest speaker was table tennis player, Melissa Tapper who is Australia’s only ever representative in both the Summer Olympics and Paralympics. Melissa spoke to the girls about the challenges she had faced in her life, her career and the importance of never giving up!

The opportunity to pose with her Commonwealth Games gold medal and the chance to see her train, even having a hit with her, were highlights of the morning. We look forward to watching her at Tokyo 2020 in her forth Summer Olympics.

SCSA Triathlon

It will be an early start for our SCSA Triathlon team next Tuesday 25 February with the first race to start in Geelong at 9.30am. All participants will complete the 200m swim, 4km (juniors and intermediate) or 6km (seniors) ride and 2km run with individual and team trophies up for grabs.

Surf League

Next Wednesday 26 February will see our Surf League team battle it out at the Schools Lifesaving Championships in Mordialloc.

Good luck to all of the girls participating in these events and we will post results and photos in the next newsletter.

House Swimming Carnival

The Kilbreda House Swimming Carnival will be held next Friday 28 February at Carnegie. We are looking forward to a great day.

Jazmine Lao - Tullow

I have been a student at Kilbreda since year 7 and I have always loved playing sports with family and friends whether that's for a team or not. I have been involved in many Kilbreda sporting teams with sports such as Basketball, Badminton, Athletics, Volleyball, Softball and Indoor Cricket and continue to do so for my last year at Kilbreda.

Polly McCartney - Kildare

I am excited to be Kildare House Captain this year! I love playing netball outside of school and in my time at Kilbreda I have participated in SCSA Netball, Swimming, Softball, Soccer and Hockey, VNA netball and SESG Netball and Basketball.
