Welcome to Edition 6 of The Ivy Voice.

The Arts are an integral part of our school life. Every year, Ivanhoe students anticipate the musicals, plays, soirees, recitals, performing arts concerts, the 'More than Words' concerts, piano and soloists competitions and film projects. The various art exhibitions, extensive ensemble rehearsals and hours of practice resulting in outstanding talent across our School deserves to be showcased, if not in person, then online through The Ivy Voice.

In this edition, please look forward to reading an exclusive interview with Mr Brown, Head of Plenty Campus, adorable primary school perspectives of lockdown, recounts of performing arts events and even interviews with the cast of the ‘39 Steps’. Enjoy watching performances from the ‘More than Words’ Concert and learning about Model United Nations. We have also included an opportunity for you to educate yourself further about the international crisis in Afghanistan.

I’m sure we speak on behalf of all students in saying that the past few months have been a roller-coaster of emotions, as the School events we love most were postponed or cancelled. Nevertheless, as courageous Ivanhoe students, we seek to overcome these difficulties and make the most of our school year with support from our teachers, friends and parents.

Finally, we would like to thank the student writers, artists and teachers who continuously support The Ivy Voice. We are also indebted to Philomena Spicer and Victoria Sze, Year 9s learning the ropes of editing, who have helped us create this edition of The Ivy Voice.

To our readers, thank you for your endless support.

Please stay safe and keep hopeful - brighter times are ahead.
