I'll be running a live art activity on Wednesday at 10am. Ms. Julie our new science teacher ran a live science workshop last week and it went so well I thought I would try it too. I will lead you through making 3 of the best ever airplanes using just A4 paper. You can challenge your Dad to a paper airplane competition!
I'll also film and upload a video of the tutorial to your google classroom in case you can't follow along on Wednesday.

Foundation:
In week 6 the Foundation students looked at the Tarax Play Sculpture located in Frankston. This large sculpture is based on soft drink bubbles and is big enough for kids to climb on. The students looked at this sculpture and made an artwork that uses different sizes of circles drawn and coloured inside a larger circle.
Last week was Book Week and the Foundation students celebrated by reading My Dog Bigsy by Alison Lester. They then constructed a dog with a bendy tummy using an accordion fold.
Year 1/2:
In week 6, the Year 1/2s researched the meaning behind the Olympic flag. Then, using all sorts of things they had at home they recreated the flag.
Last week the year 1/2s celebrated Book Week by reading Ellie's Dragon by Bob Graham. Then they followed along with my video tutorial to make a dragon mask of their own from cardboard food packaging.
Year 3/4:
In week 6, the Year 3/4s made a mini art gallery. They recreated some famous artworks, then set up their gallery for an unlikely audience...
Last week the 3/4s celebrated Book Week by unpacking the theme "Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds" and created an "other worldly" scene for a tunnel book.
Year 5/6:
In week 6 The 5/6 students explored different kind of optical illusions, then created one of their own. These results are trippy!
Last week the 5/6s celebrated Book Week by reading My Folks Grew up in the 80s by Beck and Robin Feiner. They then put their knowledge of drawing human figures into action by drawing a realistic human body and giving it an 80's outfit.
