A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

Changing Times

How quickly things can change during a pandemic. I planned to report on the Principals' meeting in today’s newsletter but more importantly I write to reassure you that we will do everything possible to make this week of home learning relevant, engaging and not too stressful on families. Teachers will prepare work which can be accessed through Google Classroom or Compass for Stage 3 students. Each teacher will also offer a daily zoom session. If the internet is a problem, teachers will ring or email you to stay connected.

If your child was away from school yesterday please drop into school today to pick up learning packs (for K-2 students) and chrome books (for years 1-6 students). Remember the school is open and if your child needs to attend don’t forget to pack the chrome book!

As you are aware this is an evolving situation that can change very quickly. I will endeavour to keep in contact with you regularly via compass newsfeeds and also through our facebook page. Please don’t hesitate to contact me through email (plong@arm.catholic.edu.au or via Kate Thompson on 67461033) if you have any questions or concerns.

PT & F Zoom Meeting

We had a very productive PT & F meeting last week. Thank you to our committee for all you do to support our school. Unfortunately, the committee had to make the difficult decision to postpone the Colour/Slime run due to the current COVID situation and the committee’s desire to ensure the safety of our local community. The good news is the PT & F is keen to run other COVID safe activities so look out for news in the PT & F section of the newsletter in coming weeks.

I would like to end with a short prayer you might like to pray together as a family:

Lord,

Today, we come to you in prayer asking for your love, protection, and provision.

Please be a place of refuge and a constant presence of love and support for all those experiencing fear, anxiety, and loneliness.

Please care for the physical needs of those who are struggling to provide for their families. Bring peace and healing to those who have lost loved ones or are dealing with life-threatening illnesses.

Please help us come to you for hope and guidance during times of uncertainty. It’s through your grace that we can continue to serve one another in your name no matter the circumstance.

We ask for your peace in place of our anxiety.

Take care and reach out if you need help,

Pauline Long
