Music Co-Curricular Ensembles

Whilst it is extremely disappointing due to the current lockdown situation that our ensembles are unable to meet to rehearse, one of the few advantages of such a delay is that it provides musicians with ample rehearsal time.  At this stage Vita Musicale will have to be been postponed until later in the year, however, all ensemble members are encouraged to continue working on the following repertoire:

• Concert Band members: Game of Thrones Soundtrack Highlights and See you Again.   I would encourage students are to focus on the more challenging sections of the music. • Mrs Cooney would like the Orchestra to work diligently on their respective parts of Frozen. Students can listen to the score at the following URL: https://www.halleonard.com/product/4491496/music-from-frozen
• Chamber musicians are encouraged to continue practising the Minuets and Bourrées they  have been given.

Applications to audition for SYO in 2022 are open 

SYO is more than just an extra curricular activity for young people who love music. It is so much more!  SYO gives young musicians the opportunity to expand their musical skills and gain access to the best orchestral music training in New South Wales.  Musicians at SYO can expect:

• Weekly rehearsals led by exceptional artistic staff 
• Masterclasses and tutorials with musicians from the likes of the SSO, ACO, AWO 
• A robust and interactive hybrid education program (face-to-face and online)
