Junior School

Another week has passed and we continue, families and school, to navigate the waters of remote learning. Thank you to all of you who are managing learning from home. I have had a number of discussions with different families and it seems you are managing your unique situations well. The teachers also are pleased with how you and your children are managing their remote learning. Personally, I have found my evening engagements with the Olympics has been great therapy for me in this time of isolation. I hope you are finding some ways to nurture your wellbeing as well.

I have enjoyed Zooming in again on a few classes and events this week and it is great to connect with the children and their teachers to see how everyone is going. A positive to come out of our current circumstances is the innovative way teachers are adding interest to the remote learning experience. Last week we heard about the Mini-Olympics. This week I attended a virtual Assembly held by the Stage 2 Cherries and Strawberries and enjoyed listening to some reports regarding our Olympic team and some music recitals. Another Christmas in July was held, this time by Stage 3 Raspberries, and the Fuji Apples joined in for a virtual tour of the State Library to learn about the illustration process and observe some incredible artefacts from the collection.

I look forward to hearing what’s new in next week’s learning!
