Class News

3/4 Joel

Dear Carolyn,

I am writing to you to persuade you that our class should have a big campfire during school. I think we definitely deserve a reward because we have been doing lots of great work in Maths and Writing. We can also build our team work and our responsibilities while learning in the great outdoors.

Firstly, we deserve a reward because we have improved so much this year. Everyone would agree with me. The students would agree! The teachers would agree! The parents would agree! How could you go against the parents! Everyone is good and we are the best! Joel was told by the other teachers that we behaved perfectly in the NAPLAN tests. How can you argue with that?

Secondly, we are really good with teamwork. We made 1000 paper cranes and 3 huge paper cranes. Just to make someone else happy. So working together to build a fire and make banana’s with chocolate, will not be hard for this team. We are a great team and will be able to pull it off. If you let us have a campfire, we will end up being one of the greatest classes the Kiewa Valley has ever seen.

So surely you are convinced that we deserve and need a campfire. It will be a great reward for our hard work and will help with our teamwork and responsibility. So there is no doubting that a fire will be great for us.

Thank you.

The pictures show teamwork in making and wrapping the Chocolate Banana’s, dismantling the pellet for wood and de-nailing and splitting the timber for the fire. We also gathered all the recycled paper around the school and had a safety talk about fires and the safe process of 20 students trying to cook marshmallow’s with our resident CFA expert Michelle. A huge thank you needs to go out to Michelle for her help, as it could not of happened without her and also Carolyn for allowing us to run an activity that will stay in our students memories for years to come.

Regards,

Joel
