Year 12 News

What a great start to the year it has been for the Class of 2023.

We have had positive feedback from VCE teachers about how students have hit the ground running and come into their final year of schooling ready to achieve their goals.

Following on from this, the theme for the Class of 23, is Achieve. We want students to think about what they want to get out of their last year of high school. Whatever that may be, we want them to strive to achieve whatever goals they have set for themselves, whether it’s further education or setting themselves up to go into the work force. We want students and parents to know that we have several supports in place for students to access across the year.

We have added additional space to help support the Year 12s, with the ‘Pathways Hub’, formally known as Byrne House, transformed for the Year 12’s to complete quiet, independent study. It’s already been fantastic to see how the students have embraced the use of the space during their study periods, before and after school.

VCE Study Boost - Thursday Afternoons

A reminder to both students and parents that our afterschool VCE Study Boost began on Thursday this week. This is a great opportunity for students to get extra support from their teachers, whether it be one-on-one or in small teams. Every time a student attends for the duration of the session, they will receive an entry to win $100, each term, towards a VCE exam revision session of their choice at the end of the year. A great incentive to help students achieve their academic goals.

Swimming Carnival

In just a few weeks, we have our first themed dress event for the Year 12s with the college swimming carnival. We can’t wait to see what creative ideas students come up with as they celebrate their final Swimming Carnival.

Year 12 Jackets

Finally, the Year 12’s are looking ever so stylish with their brand new jackets. These items were eagerly anticipated, and we are so excited they came early in the year. It’s great to see our students wearing them with pride around the college. Ms Fonda, the Later Years team and I eagerly look forward to sharing the Year 12 journey with the Class of '23. With so much to look forward to, we can’t wait to share in all the successes and celebrations along the way.
