Tonight, I will be holding swimming trials for students who would like to try out for the Bayside District Swimming Trials. Our St Brendan’s swimming trials will be held from 4.00pm - 5.00pm. They will be held at Pines Forest Aquatic Centre on Forest Drive, Frankston North. The events students can try out for are 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke and 50m butterfly. Students need to be able to swim 50m continuously to attend. Parents are required to take their child to this trial and arrive at the pool before 4pm. Students will need to bring bathers, towel, water bottle, goggles and have sunscreen applied. Parents will need to remain at the venue.
During these trials students will participate in time trials, starts, finishes and relays. If your child is wanting to attend these trials to try out for the Bayside District Swimming Trials, please email me aseaburgh@sbsomerville.catholic.edu.au
See you there tonight.
This year we will be running a St Brendan’s Athletics Day on Wednesday 22nd March. This will be a house event and will give all of our students the opportunity to participate in track and field events. It will also allow me the opportunity to select an Athletics Team to represent St Brendan's at the Bayside District Athletics Carnival on Friday 31st March.
Students will be practicing all Athletics events during Physical Education lessons.

Last Tuesday, we were very lucky to have Hockey Victoria come out and run a hockey clinic. Students learnt how to hold the hockey stick, how to hit the hockey ball, basic rules and dribbling. Our students loved participating. If your child is interested in starting hockey please contact - Peninsula Hockey Centre on 9766 7478.
