Casual Dress Day

Casual Dress Day

On Friday 19 May Frankston High School held their Term 2 Casual Dress Day, in which we raised money for Beyondblue.

I am pleased and proude to announce that we raised a HUGE total of $2,146.10 for Beyondblue; with the Junior School raising $708.75, Middle School $605.30 and the Senior School $599.15.  The SLC would also like to congratulate Year 7F who donated $35 and Year 8B who donated $40.

Everyday there are eight people that take their own lives, which is an alarming figure that should be changed, immediately. There is no reason that suicide should be so prevalent in today’s society; as so many people lose loved ones who have their whole lives ahead of them because of their inner demons.  Losing someone to suicide is no less than absolutely heartbreaking, wondering what you could have said differently, or called one more time to check up on how they are, which is why we should all come together and help those around us.  We need a little less selfishness in the world, and a lot more selflessness.

During the week of the 15 to19 May, to celebrate IDAHOT day, the SLC ran a hot chocolate stand on the Senior Campus, which raised $61 and on Friday a homemade pizza stand was run, kindly supported by the Food Technology department, which raised $171.90.  At lunchtime on the Friday,

Frankston High School also had a table tennis tournament run by Sports Leadership and a Rocket League tournament, run by Steven Bonfadini.  Throughout the week, Inside Out was shown on both the 7-10  and Senior Campus.
