Stage 6 Composition Workshop

We are very excited to welcome Icelandic composer Hildigunnur Runarsdottir to our school on Thursday, 9th March. Hildigunnur has composed the contemporary pocket opera Traversing the Void for one voice and chamber ensemble, in association with Blue Mountains librettist, Josephine Truman. Hildigunnur will present a composition workshop for the Year 12 Music class. 

Traversing the Void will be performed at Blue Mountains Theatre on Saturday, 11th March and the Wesley Music Centre, Forrest, ACT on Friday 17th March by singer Hallveig Runarsdottir and the Kanimbla Quartet, including Elizabeth Harding (BMGS Alumnus 2005).

Assembly performance

Congratulations to Layla Davis for her thoughtful performance of ‘Air and Hornpipe’ by Purcell at the Pink Assembly this week. Layla is currently working on her HSC performance program in which she will perform 4 works for external examiners in September.

Soirée Benvenuto

The sign-up sheet for our first Music Soirée of 2023 is now available at the music office. We anticipate a wonderful evening of musical performances, Thursday 16th March, in the Recital Room.
