THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S INTERNATIONAL AWARD

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is the world’s leading achievement award for young people, bringing together practical experiences and life skills to create committed global citizens and equipping young people for life and work.

At yesterday's Whole School Assembly we congratulated several Sacred Heart students in completing their Bronze Award which recognises their commitment to personal development and helping others.

These students have each completed over 13-26 hours in each of the following areas:

  • Improving their fitness through volleyball, swimming, dance, running and yoga
  • Giving hours back to the community through dance tutoring, assistance in the Library, helping the disadvantaged, sports photography and coastal rehabilitation
  • Showing tremendous growth in their chosen skills such as cooking, baking, piano, camp craft and making jewellery

These students have learnt to equip and empower themselves to achieve their personal best and increase their confidence, decision making skills and leadership ability. They have made a real difference to society through their positive contributions and involvement with their peers and community.

Congratulations to:

  • Emma McQuillen (Year 10 Hannan)
  • Matthew Batchelor (Year 12 Hannan)
  • Meredith Dawson (Year 10 Barlow)
  • Ash Humski (Year 10 Thu Duc)
