YOUNG VINNIES STUDENTS VISIT RUAH HOUSE

On Wednesday, eight Young Vinnies students from Years 11-12 participated in a trip to Ruah Community Services. We donated frozen food packages and household items to the shelter and cooked pancakes for their afternoon tea. During the afternoon we spoke to a social worker in the facility who informed us on the process of women seeking support in the WA system.

This extensive process highlights the support system for women in WA who are in a current crisis. The aim of the organisation is to provide “a safe place for new beginnings”, as the service provides a safe, purpose-built centre of healing and health for women and their children at all stages on their path to safety and a new, positive future.

This year, Hannan House is fundraising for Ruah Community Services and, in this way, Sacred Heart can continue to provide support for the organisation. We strongly encourage students to contribute to the support of this shelter in any way required.

We thank Mrs Hywood and Miss Moreton for organising this visit and appreciate all those involved in the continuous support of Ruah Community Services.
