General Information (2 of 2)

KINDER ENROLMENT 2023

If you have a child who is expected to start Kinder in 2023 and have not yet submitted an application, please contact the Registrar, Jodie Davis, as soon as possible. Applications close at the end of Term 2.

Students currently enrolled in the 3 year old program do not need to reapply.

RAPID ANTIGEN TESTS

Available for collection from Student Services every day between 9:30am and 4pm.

This window is a busy space and it is likely that wait times will occur. Students are asked to factor this in when collecting, ensuring that collection will not impact on class attendance.

GENERAL ACHIEVEMENT TEST (GAT) 2022

As you may be aware, the General Achievement Test (GAT) is usually held each year in June, for all students undertaking a Year 12 VCE Subject.

This year, the date for the GAT has been set (by the VCAA) for Wednesday, 7 September.

All students enrolled in a Year 12 (Unit 3/4) VCE or VET Subject, as well as all Senior VCAL students will be expected to sit the GAT in 2022. More information will be communicated to families closer to the date.

BUS SEATS AVAILABLE

Great news! We have some availability on our school buses that service the following areas: Belgrave South, Belgrave Heights, Narre Warren (including North, South & East) Berwick, Ferntree Gully, Upper Ferntree Gully, Boronia and Knoxfield.

If you are interested in morning, afternoon or full-time travel for your child/ren please email buses@bhcs.vic.edu.au

CASUAL BUS USE

Due to limited spaces the School is unable to accommodate casual bus use requests. Should families require emergency travel they are encouraged to email buses@bhcs.vic.edu.au.

In cases of emergency, where room is available, the School will work with families to find the most suitable arrangement.

WELLBEING RESOURCES

We know that it can sometimes be hard to find the necessary resources in relation to mental health, bullying and family violence, especially when things are tough. For this reason, the School has a small webpage with links related to health and wellbeing resources. This can be found on the School's website under Other Resources or can be found here.

CHILD SAFETY

What is Grooming?

You may have heard of the term, ‘grooming’. Usually this term is used in relation to matters of child safety. In short, it means that someone is trying to gain a child’s trust for the purposes of intending to do harm to the child in the future. Grooming does not always relate to the child themselves, but may also be done through gaining the trust of a child’s parents or carers. Grooming behaviour has multiple aspects to it, so it’s important to know what these are.

The Australian Parenting website provides information on signs to look for in relation to grooming, not just when it relates to children of different age groups, but also as it relates to parents.

If you would like to learn more on recognising the signs of grooming, please head to the Australian Parenting website by clicking here

If you have any concerns at all in relation to matters of child safety, we encourage you to approach one of our teachers, email a home room teacher or a team leader, or advise someone in Administration that you need to speak to a senior leader about a child safety matter. Keeping children safe is our collective responsibility.
