Year 10 End of Semester:
Demonstrating Learning Progress
Year 10 End of Semester:
Demonstrating Learning Progress
Hello Year 10 parents,
The end of Semester 1 is fast approaching! In Year 10, this means that it is approaching crunch time when it comes to our students demonstrating their learning progress. As they are now senior students at the College, there are some additional processes to help support students in this very busy time of year. We will be doing our absolute best to help our students through; by informing you all of what is happening, we are hoping you can support your children outside of class time as well!
The end of semester will look slightly different semester or year-long subjects:
English and Maths
These year-long subjects will be going through the sign off process with students each semester. This process is designed to support students in formalising how they demonstrate learning progress. Teachers will inform students of what they will need to do in order to be signed off; usually, this will involve passing all of their assessments and completing a sufficient amount of learning interactions. Once they have achieved this, they will be signed off and their reports will reflect that they have demonstrated learning progress.
Semester-based subjects
For all semester based subjects, the sign off process will not run. Students will demonstrate learning progress in the exams which run in Weeks 8 and 9 this term. Please encourage your child out in their best effort, have conversations with their teachers, and to revise for these exams so they can perform at their best!
We really appreciate your time and effort in supporting us at the College. If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact Alexander Geng, the Year 9/10 Learning Coordinator. Thank you!
