Student Work

Year 7 Drama - The Given Circumstances

This term Year 7 Drama classes have been undertaking a unit of work called “Exploring Drama Techniques”. In this unit the students explore “The Given Circumstances”, how to create these for an open script and how to interpret an established script. The students have been exploring the drama techniques of Voice, Body, Movement and Use of Space, and experimenting with how to differentiate these to create believable characters. They have been doing this through games, short activities and short performance tasks. As well as applying these to short scripts and performances, students are learning how to analyse how professional actors manipulate drama techniques to create characters. Here are some photos of the students in action applying this understanding. Their work has been fantastic and they have all been enthusiastically involved in class performances.

Physical Education Curriculum – Volleyball Unit

Students in Years 7 to 10 have begun a Volleyball unit during term 2 where they have been developing key skills such as the set, the dig and serve. Students have also been developing strategies around gameplay including where to position the ball when serving, digging and setting the volleyball.

Students will be participating in a round robin competition where they have been placed into teams based on their ability levels. Students were asked to put themselves into a 1, 2 or 3 star rating based on where they thought their skill set was at in the game of Volleyball.

Volleyball has proven to be a very popular sport around the school and we will continue to build on the skills they have in PE practical classes!

Year 11 Health & Human Development:

Students have been exploring Mental Health and the issues surrounding this as well as exploring community values and expectations in programs for Youth. Students have been adding information to their interactive notebooks, structuring them by working on a teacher and student side of their books. On the student side of their INBs they are able to apply their knowledge through questioning, mind maps etc. to demonstrate understanding. It is fantastic to see our VCE students working hard in the classroom.
