Principal's Report

It was terrific to speak to parents and students at our Parent Teacher Student Conferences. At Staughton we are passionate about our students being successful. This term has had its challenges with staff and student illness which again makes it vital that we take every opportunity to work together on our students’ wellbeing and achievement. Parents and teachers have a key role to play together in sending an unrelenting message to our students that we believe that they will be successful.
We are strongly focussing this year on assessing where students are up to in their learning and then target teaching them in ways that are known to work. We have strong routines in our classrooms to scaffold student learning. The best way they can set themselves up to succeed is to be at school every day (illness notwithstanding), with the right materials and ready to learn.
This year for the first time we held our EPiCC Careers Expo at the same time as our Parent Teacher Student Conferences. This is part of the process to make sure families are fully informed about our course counselling process, particularly as the new Senior Secondary Schooling Pathway Reforms begin.

We, at Staughton College, would like to show our respect and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which our school is situated, of elders past and present. We extend a warm welcome to everyone who visits our school.
