Marrung Education Plan

Boys to Men

We are excited to be announcing a Koorie boys program in partnership with Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place and Dardi Munwurro to offer support for boys social, emotional wellbeing and strengthening their cultural identity. This will likely involve a two hour session, once per week throughout Term 3 and will conclude with a camp on Country.

Next Wednesday 27th July Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families will be invited to Heathmont College to meet members from MMIGP and Dardi Munwurro. This was an opportunity for families to be consulted about what they would like to see as part of the program. It will also be a good chance for all the boys in the region to connect,

Reconciliation Action Plan

A Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is a formal statement of commitment to reconciliation. Throughout the year, Heathmont College will be developing and actioning a RAP to more formally commit Heathmont College to reconciliation. If you are interested in being part of the RAP Working Group (whether you are a parent/carer, student, teacher or staff member) please send an email to shane.hunt@education.vic.gov.au. More information can be found here.

Get Creative!

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students have the opportunity to create music with Hip Hop Artist, Philly. Come together to develop song writing skills, produce and record a song! Sessions are Wednesdays from 4-6pm at EVs in Croydon and Bayswater Community Art Centre.
