This term we have been studying Music. 

Prep students have been learning about beat and pattern and have been playing claves, eggs (maracas), castanets and triangles. 

Year 1 students have been learning about rhythm and have played and created their own on a variety of non-tuned percussion instruments. 

Year 2 students have been learning about pitch and melody. Although they are pictured here with non-tuned instruments, participating in a Rhythm Play Along, they have mostly been playing glockenspiels, with some students playing piano.

Years 5 and 6 students have been learning to play, arrange and compose their own instrumental pieces on keyboards, piano and glockenspiel, which they found both challenging and engaging. The finished melodies were very impressive.

All the students have had a very successful term in Performing Arts.

Next term we will be studying Drama.
