School Wide Positive Behaviour Support

Albanvale Primary School is a “School Wide Positive Behaviour Support” school. This is a long title that essentially means that we are committed to supporting students to know how to behave at school through explicitly teaching them how to behave, acknowledging the positive behaviours that we see, and by building strong positive relationships between all students and staff.

A major element of our “SWPBS” initiative is that we acknowledge students for making good decisions in the yard and in the classroom. We do this by giving students a High 5! The students should feel proud to be acknowledged for demonstrating the behaviours they have been taught at school!

Our students also have an opportunity to bring their High 5’s to our High 5 shop! Here, they can trade them for a prize, a gift from our school to say thank you for your behaviour effort! Here are some students who have been through the shop this week!
