Principal's Report

At College our education regularly extends beyond the four walls of the classroom. Last week, Young House won the Myrniong swimming title and four new age champions were presented to the Junior School. We had tremendous success at the Glenelg Division Swimming Championship; winning 37 of 66 races including 11 of 16 relays. Lachlan Rees, Bridget Delany, Arielle Dickeson, Claudia Roberts and Jack Sharp were all declared age group champions. Our cricketers enjoyed strong success against Monivae College. The Girls’ First XI won their 20/20 encounter comfortably while the Boys’ First XI narrowly lost in the last over by 6 runs. Basketball also commenced in impressive style this week with many students making their official College debut. Finally, this weekend, our rowers will compete at the State Championships on Lake Wendouree. I wish them all every success as they strive to achieve their personal best.
Today, Mr Neil MacLean and I fly out for China to interview new students, meet with our current international families and present at school exhibitions in Hong Kong. Over 12 days we will visit Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzen and Hong Kong. We return on Monday 12 March. During this time, Miss Kristen Waldron will be Acting Principal.
Finally, while we welcome Sister Laura Dufty to our College community this week, I am sad to announce that our vibrant and much loved Warrnambool-Port Fairy-Hamilton bus driver, Mr Stuart Rodda will retire at the end of this term. We value servant leadership at College and Stuart has been a magnificent role model for almost 23 years. We will farewell Stuart at our school assembly on Wednesday 21 March at 12.30pm and any interested families are welcome to attend.
