Northern Territory Tour

Northern Territory
The NT Tour was a once in a lifetime experience. The places we visited were unforgettable: Uluru at sunset, hiking Kings Canyon, appreciating the efforts of the Royal Flying Doctors Service, Devils Marbles, Katherine Outback Adventure, Katherine Gorge, swimming at Wangi Falls and the springs, watching the jumping crocs at Adelaide River, to name only a few.
The Education Centres displaying the phenomenal Indigenous culture and their stories helped us understand just how truly amazing Australia is, and how rich its history. The stories of the Dreamtime and the art people painted on Uluru, Ubirr and Nourlangie Rock showed the fascinating history of the original landowners.
The cruises showed us the beautiful wetlands, gorges and diverse wildlife of the Northern Territory. It was unforgettable. The terrifying 6ft crocodiles jumping out of the Adelaide River amazed all students.
The incredible hikes and walks around some of Australia's iconic scenery were challenging, but overall quite extraordinary. Kings Canyon was a highlight for almost every student and teachers--the long hike around the rim walk left many breathless- literally in some cases. No matter how strenuous the hike, the views were unbelievably beautiful and was a view that everyone on the trip will remember.
“NT Tour was one of the best experiences of my life. We got to experience once in a lifetime opportunities, which I would never think I could have had the chance to do. Things such as the Kings Canyon hike, which was tiring but had views that words cannot describe; seeing The Veronicas on Territory Day; getting to build a strong bond with your friends and teachers over all the long hikes and beautiful sunsets...to washing your dishes...is only something that you can do the Northern Territory camp. I would highly recommend it to anyone.” – Amielle Sims
“Spending time with friends, having that sense of being independent and not relying on parents to do everything, also Kings Canyon was lit”
–Sian Tanser
“The school NT trip is one of the best times I’ve ever had and definitely something I’ll always remember. Not only where the activities fun...and getting to know one another made for a pretty fun trip. My highlights of the trip included the Kings Canyon trek, which was an awesome hike with some phenomenal scenery, and the jumping crocodile boat trip, which was scary but amazing to see. I think the NT Tour trip is one that everyone should definitely do.” –Harry Woodman
All of these amazing events and tours were all set up by the most dedicated 11 teachers who gave us 15 days of their lives to make sure we were all okay, safe and having the time of our lives. Mr. Brooks, Ms. Ivankovic, Ms. Shaw, Ms. Davies, Mr. Kos, Ms. Clinch, Ms. Birrell, Mr. Pollock, Ms. Stocks and especially to both Ms. Lewis and Ms. Nieva, from everyone we say thank you. These teachers always made sure all the students had a smile on their faces, looked after them when they were sick and encouraged them to keep going, even when their legs felt like jelly. All the students are grateful and cannot thank them enough for the effort and organisation they put in.
A very big thank you as well to Tourism NT for their generous grant. We very much appreciate your support.
